According to the Department of Health, Cervical Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer related deaths worldwide. In the Philippines, more than 6,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed every year. HPV infection causes more than 99% of cervical cancer cases among women.

 As part of the School Based Immunization Program, the Municipal Health Office of Mambajao will be conducting their Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination/Anti-Cervical Cancer among female children who are 9-14 years old in all public schools in the municipality starting this April 24, 2023.
